Google no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password.
In order to send emails from Check-Inn using your G-Mail, please follow the steps below:
1) Login to your G-Mail account that you are using in Check-Inn.
2) Click the menu icon located in the image below.
3) Click on the first option “Account”.
4) On the left hand side of the screen, navigate to “Security”.
4) Scroll down to the “Signing in to Google” section.
5) Make sure “2-Step Verification” is turned ON.
6) Once “2-Step Verification” is turned ON, click on “App passwords”.
7) On the App passwords screen, select the option “Other (Custom Name)”.
8) Enter the name “Check-Inn” and click the generate button.
9) A password will generate as seen in the image below. Write down this password in a secure location.
10) In Check-Inn view any report and press F6 or click the email button.
11) At the top of the Email screen, click Settings, then Login Settings.
12) In the password field, enter in the new generated password from step 9, and click the save button.
Important if you use Check-Inn on multiple computers, you will need to enter the email password on each Check-Inn terminal.
